Jamgon Kongtrul III Memorial Health Care Centre
![]() |
Before the Clinic was set up in 1995, many villagers in the area suffered from curable diseases simply because of the lack of access to care. Now the health care facility serves more than 10,000 people and an average of 275 patients visit the Clinic each month. The resident nurse is not only qualified and experienced, but she is also aware of local customs and problems. A multilingual doctor visits once a week to treat a full range of diseases including tuberculosis, which is prevalent in the area. Although a token fee is generally requested, and medical examinations, vaccinations, health education and medications are at cost, patients who are unable to pay are exempt from any charges. |
